How do I change my phone number, email or other personal details? #

Go to the ‘My Account’ area and click ‘My Personal Details’ from the left hand menu.

Is this service free? #

You can join BabyActivityToys for free. As a free member of BabyActivityToys you can place as many private adverts as you wish.

 

You can also take part in our discussion forums and our readers reviews area. However, if you want to respond to our most recent adverts, you need to become a full member.

 

Otherwise you can respond to all adverts once they reach 12 days old with your free membership.

I am having problems logging in #

First thing to check is if there is a red error message at the top of the page.

 

Error Message: We cannot find an existing member with this email address.

In this case, double check that your email address has been entered correctly. Make sure there are no spaces, no extra dots. Also:

 

 

Have you entered .co.uk instead of .com by mistake?

 

Do you have another email address you might have used, for example a work address?

 

Are there variations on your address (for example gmail.com and googlemail.com)

 

Note that email addresses are NOT case sensitive so joebloggs@mymail.com is the same as JoeBloggs@MyMail.com

 

 

Error Message: The password you have given does not match the one we hold for this account

 

 

In order to ensure the best possible security, passwords for BabyActivityToys ARE case sensitive.

Therefore, mypassword is different to MyPassword

 

If you are having problems with your password, you can reset it using the link “Forget your password? on the right of the page.

 

 

No Error Message

 

If you are being taken immediately back to the log in page without a red error message at the top of the page, it is probably a problem with cookies.

 

Firstly, check the date is set correctly on your computer as this can cause problems with cookies.

 

Secondly, check that your browser is set to accept cookies. Try adding BabyActivityToys as a “Safe Site”. To do this you need to add both http://*.babyactivitytoys.co.uk and https://*.babyactivitytoys.co.uk to ensure all areas of our site are accessible.

 

Thirdly, check to see if you have any virus, security or privacy software that might be blocking cookies. For example, AVG antivirus is capable of blocking cookies. If you have software such as this, try temporarily disabling these to see if this fixes the issue. You could also add BabyActivityToys as a safe site, as above.

I’ve changed my email address since last logging in #

 

Use the old email address to log in for now while we identify you, then change it later in the “my details” area of the “My Account” area.

When I try to become a new member it tells me my password does not match. #

 

If you receive the message “The password you have given does not match the one we hold for this account.” then you have already joined BabyActivityToys at some point in the past with this email address.

Why have you asked me to verify my identity? #

 

In some cases we ask members to verify their identity. This might be by telephone or by post, or sometimes we can do this as a result of a payment you have made to upgrade your membership.

 

While we are going through the verification process, you might find that your access to some areas of the site is restricted.

 

We do this as part of our effort to make BabyActivityToys one of the safest places to buy and sell online.

 

Will you pass my details on to other companies? #

What Are Cookies? Do They Affect My Privacy? #

 

A cookie is a small piece of text placed by us on the user’s computer. They enable us to recognise visitors as they move from page to page. They enable us to personalise the visitor experience and to avoid the need to repeatedly log in.

How do I read my messages? #

 

You can read your messages by going directly to the messages area of the web site.

 

You can do this by clicking on “My Account” at the top of the page, then clicking “My Messages” in the menu on the left. You should then see your messages listed on this page.

 

 

My PayPal account was charged twice for membership #

 

If you upgrade your membership by paying with PayPal, the system begins by creating an ‘order’, at which time you receive an email.

 

It can be a couple of days before that order is processed and your card is debited, at which point you receive a second email confirming this.

 

The order and processing also appear as separate lines on your PayPal statement. However, your account will have been charged only once.

 

If you still think you have been charged twice, please contact us and let us know the Invoice ID (A long number in two halves, starting WPACC) on each payment so we can look into this further. You will see this on the details page for the transaction.

 

 

My card is being declined but I know I have funds on there. #

 

It could be that your card payment has been ‘referred’. This is not uncommon and may be because of frequent or unusual card use in the last 24 hours, or possibly just a random check.

 

When this happens in a high street store, the store will telephone your credit card provider and obtain approval over the telephone. Unfortunately there is no way of obtaining this approval online.

 

If you are having problems with your card being declined you could try contacting your card issuer to see if they can clear the referral or advise of other problems.

 

Alternatively you could try using a different card. If you are still having problems, please contact us and we can try to find an alternative means of payment.

 

During the payment process I am being asked for additional personal information. #

Many banks are now using the “Verified by Visa” and “MasterCard SecureCode” systems. These are designed to provide additional security for online payments.

 

During the payment process you will be taken to a page on your bank’s web site where you will be asked for additional information to identify yourself. Having provided this you will be returned to the normal payment process on BabyActivityToys.

Is it safe to upgrade my account online? #

 

The payment system for BabyActivityToys upgrades is managed by WorldPay, a division of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

 

You will notice a closed padlock symbol in your browser once you have entered the WorldPay payment system, showing that your payment is being made over a secure connection using state of the art encryption.
