The Rainforest Jumperoo as the name suggest is “rainforest” themed and is quite distinguishable with its “bright red baby seat cover” featuring a frog and surrounded by an off white table base filled with a range of brightly coloured interactive toys together with lights and sounds to keep your baby occupied.
Ever since it was first released in the early 2000’s, the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo has been featured as a best seller baby activity jumper in specialist babies shops and shops such as Amazon. It has more than 12,800 five-star reviews on Amazon and in fact recently received a “Tried and True” honors at the JPMA Show: Best in Baby 2020 Innovation Awards; the judging panel credited the toy with helping babies “build critical muscle growth in legs, core and neck, while bouncing around with surrounding toys to keep them entertained.”
There are several makes of jumperoos under the Fisher-Price brand name. They all come with high specifications and are all similar in function (which is to keep the baby entertained) but with different themes and featured activity toys.

Lights, Sounds & Toys
The Rainforest Jumparoo is designed to stimulate the sight, hearing, and touch senses of a growing child. Electronic Hub
One of the main toys on the interactive table is an electronic component that controls the music, lights and sounds reward every time the baby jumps. The built in lights, music and other forest like sounds are activated by the movement of the baby.
Bright colors, lights, and a variety of sounds and textures help stimulate your baby’s visual, auditory, and tactile senses
Attached to the electronic unit also, are three main rainforest animal character toys (Elephant, Parrot and a Monkey) that the baby can pull upon and bat away together with a rolling drum that also activates the lights and sounds.
The movement activated lights helps your baby discover the fun of “cause and effect” as they figure out how to activate the lights, music, and sounds by jumping or interacting with the toys thus encouraging your baby to take action (by jumping or touching the toys) in order to hear the sounds or see the light. (You will need 3 x AA batteries which are not included).
The electronic hub also has a volume control and on/off switch to control and turn on the lights and sounds off when not needed.
Jumper & Seat
The Rainforest Jumperoo features a safe, sturdy, free standing steel frame that lets your baby jump independently and safely.
While some jumpers require a doorway ( baby door jumpers ), the Rainforest Jumperoo stands on its own and as a result, the design of the Rainforest Jumperoo is slightly bulky and wide.
Once assembled, the Rainforest Jumperoo is 37 inches tall and 32 inches wide in each direction, weighing 18 pounds. The weight is a necessary safety feature as when a baby jumps, the metal springs stretch and contract, which would be unsafe without the weighted base.
The good thing about the Rainforest Jumperoo being free standing means that the jumper can be sited anywhere as there is no need for a doorway as required by baby door jumpers. The Jumperoo springs are also covered in fabric to prevent pinched fingers.
The cushioned seat design of the jumperoo is similar to a bucket swing with leg holes and a supported back. Your baby can be lowered down into the adjustable seat, which has three height positions to accommodate a growing infant. This seat appears to be comfortable for both sitting and bouncing.
The jumper seat has a 360-degree design, which means the baby can play with the toys on each side. However, it’s unlikely that a child will be able to turn the seat on their own at the initial stages to access the toys on the other sides.
As your baby grows though, s/he will be able to comfortably turn around to access all the toys on the table surrounding the seat.
Build Quality
The Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumper is quite steady and designed to keep the baby safe in its enclosure. The jumper is held together by a safe, sturdy, free-standing steel frame that lets your baby jump safely. It does appear much safer than doorway jumper type.
It is pretty easy to set up as there are no kind of screws or anything. It is literally a case of slotting in the poles. Everything that you do need to assemble the jumperoo is included except for a screwdriver and three double A batteries to put into the electronic component.
The toys are plastic but non of the parts appear to be parts that are of nature that can cause chocking harm to your baby
Ease Of Use
The Fisherprice Rainforest jumperoo is quite easy to use once assembled. All you do is pop the baby in the seat. The baby’s jumping activates the flashing lights, sounds and music! Roll the drum on the electronic unit to hear different tunes or the sound of the forest
Ease Of Assembly
The Jumperoo is very easy to assemble straight out of the box as no tools are required. It comes with an easy to follow instruction.
The jumper poles are simply fitted to the base with clips that snap into place. You only need a screwdriver to open the electronic component to fit 3 AA batteries (which are not included).
Size & Portability
The design of the Rainforest Jumperoo is slightly bulky and wide; Weighing 18 pounds, the system is 37 inches tall and 32 inches wide in each direction. The weight is a necessary safety feature—when a baby jumps, the metal springs stretch and contract, which would be unsafe without the weighted base. The Jumperoo springs are also covered in fabric to prevent pinched fingers.
You will need to collapse the Rainforest Jumper to move it from room to room as once built it will not fit through a door. Although it folds up for moving and storage, this position is not particularly compact.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Made primarily from plastic and metal, the Rainforest Jumperoo is easy to clean. A damp cloth or disinfectant wipe can be used for a quick once-over to get rid of germs and sticky residue left from tiny fingers.
The seat comes with a polyester cloth cover, which is easy to remove. It’s machine-washable and approved for drying in a standard dryer.
Storage
The base tube of The Rainforest Jumper collapses easily so that you can fold it in almost on itself for temporary storage when it is not in use. All you need to do is pop out the legs.
If you are expecting this to fold down flat you will be disappointed. It doesn’t, in fact it hardly folds at all, still taking up quite a lot of floor space.
The Rainforest Jumperoo is a big activity toy and does take up considerable space even when you fold it, so if you do have a small apartment you might need to consider an alternative activity toy.
A smaller version of the Fisherprice Rainforest jumperoo does exist called the Fisher Price Rainforest Space Saver for those who don’t have the space in the living room
