It’s featured for many years as a best seller activity toy for babies in shops such as Amazon and quite distinguishable with its “bright orange baby seat cover” featuring a tiger and surrounded by a light green table base filled with a range of rainforest theme activity toys.
The Roarin’ Rainforest is just one out of the many high spec fun filled baby activity jumpers marketed under the brand name “Fisher-Price“, by a well known American company called “Mattel” with a reputation for producing educational toys for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
There are several makes of jumperoos under the Fisher-Price brand name. They all come with high specifications and are all similar in function (which is to keep the baby entertained) but with different themes and featured activity toys.
Each of the Fisher-Price jumperoos are clearly targeted at specific markets in terms of colour, theme, name etc.
The Fisher-Price Roarin’ Rainforest Jumperoo is as the name suggest “rainforest” themed. It is a unisex product (can be used by both boys or girls) and also known in the United States, under the name “Fisher-Price Tiger-Time Jumperoo”.

Your baby gets to play with bead bars, teethers, spinners, clickers and more as s/he bounce as high as s/he can. It also comes with sound effects and lights too!

This Jumperoo is loaded with safety and convenience features that parents will really appreciate. The sturdy, free-standing steel frame lets babies jump safely—no doorways required. Soft spring covers keep little fingers safe. As baby grows, you can adjust it to 3 different heights.

All the little interactive elements and different noises and textures make this a really fun product for the baby, whilst at the same time, helping both motor neurone skills and leg strength. This Fisherprice Roarin’ rainforest is based on the rain forest theme and is clearly targeted at the unisex market which makes it suitable for both boys and girls. The important thing is that the jumperoo should only be used by a child who can hold his/her head up unassisted and who is not able to walk or climb out of seat.
The manufacturer recommends that the jumperoo be used by only babies between the ages of 6 months to 12 months old with a maximum weight of 11.3 kg (25 lb) and a height of less than 32 inches (81cm). Some parents however claimed that they started to use the jumperoo from the age of 5 months onwards.

A lot of thought seems to have gone into the design of this particular jumperoo, as it immediately gives the impression of a safe enclosed space with loads of toys and activities for the baby

The baby can reach, grasp, move, groove, and jump – all things that give your baby a helpful boost in developing his/her motor skills, hand-eye coordination and physical development.
Toys & Activities
There’s so much for your baby to discover when using the Fisher-Price Roaring Rainforest Jumperoo – Your baby can play with the cuddly toys, creatures, clickers and more as they bounce as high as they can. There are even sound effects and lights too, to reward your baby with every jump!
Immediately noticeable is the brightly coloured orange padded tiger seat together with what appears to be 3 x overhanding branches; from which 2 monkeys with long tails dangle, that are within slight reach of your baby. The design ensures that the baby has to stretch to reach up to grab the monkey tails. The monkey tails when grabbed and released pings up, creating a jumping effect, which is off course, very entertaining to the baby.
Surrounding the tiger themed baby seat is a circular green table that contains a number of toys that would serve to keep the baby occupied whilst in the seat.
The colourful toys include a lion roller, alligator clicker, butterfly teether, bat at elephant and hippo, colourful lights, mirror, plus an adorable smiling tiger seat that your baby will love and more.
The seat unit itself has a 360 spin, which is absolutely brilliant. An enclosed rotating seat gives your baby 360° access to the toys, activities and friends all around, including the soft monkeys overhead, spinners, clickers, a bead bar, mirror and so much more, all within your baby’s reach.
It rotates all the way around, so your baby will always have something new to enjoy. It’s really comfy, it’s higher up in the back with a nice comfortable headrest area. This means the baby is protected, should the baby lean back abruptly at any time. It’s also quite wide in front of the baby, which is really good. So again, it means they’re not going to go to bump their heads if they lean forward
Some thought also has been put into the fact that babies do grow quickly at the early stages. The Roarin’ Rainforest jumperoo grows with your child as it comes with a height adjustable seat enabling you to gain the most from the bouncer as your child grows.
The seat has three different height adjustments, so there is a lot more growing room, which means your child would be able to use this for hopefully a very long time.
The height of the seat is adjusted by changing the level of the supporting band to one of the 3 height levels as you require. This enable you adjust the activity toy jumper as your child grows thus ensuring that you can make use of the activity toy for a longer time.
You also don’t need to struggle to adjust the seat height as some of the other jumperoos.
Build Quality
The Fisher-Price baby bouncer features a safe, sturdy, free-standing steel frame that lets baby jump safely, so no doorway is required with the rainforest jumperoo.
It is pretty easy to set up as there are no kind of screws or anything. It is literally a case of slotting.
The base unit itself, even though it’s easy to put together is pretty rigid and strong when assembled so that it copes with lively bouncing babies.
The toys are plastic but non of the parts appear to be parts that are of nature that can cause chocking harm to your baby
Ease Of Use
The Roarin’ Rainforest jumperoo is quite easy to use once assembled. All you do is pop the baby in the seat. The baby’s jumping activates the flashing lights, sounds and music! Pull the elephant or press the flower button to hear different tunes or the sound of the forest
A lot of the stuff is detachable, so your child can take things away with them, and we love the fact that the music, sounds and lights start when your baby is jumping and moving around, so it kind of acts as a reward for the baby to be jumping. It’s really great for their strength, their motor skills, and it’s just so entertaining for them.
Babies do grow quickly…. the fact that you can easily adjust the height of the unit (by changing the level of the three supporting bands to the height you require) is an added bonus feature. It helps by ensuring that you as the parent(s) get more use out of this jumperoo, rather than having to shell out on a new jumper because the baby has outgrown the product.
Ease Of Assembly
It looked pretty easy to set up. There were no kind of screws or anything. Assembling the Rainforest jumperoo is literally a case of slotting. Everything that you do need to assemble the jumperoo is included in the box, except for a screwdriver and 3 x double “A sized batteries” to put into the light unit.

Cleaning & Maintenance
Cleaning and maintaining the Roarin’ Raindorest Jumperoo is pretty easy as the seat cover is removable and is machine washable. This is perfect, because you don’t have to worry if your baby dribbles on it.
All you need to do if the seat is dirty is wash it separately in cold water on the gentle cycle. Do
not use bleach. Tumble dry separately on low heat and remove promptly.
The frame, seat, seat ring, straps and toys can also be easily wiped clean using a mild cleaning solution and damp cloth. Do not use bleach.
Portability
The Rainforest jumperoo is a big piece of equipment. It measures 34.6 inches (88cm) by 34.6 inches (88cm) when it is set up which does take up a substantial area of the living room except you do have a large living room.
You will need to collapse the Roaring Rainforest Jumper to move it from room to room as once built it will not fit through a door.
Storage
Not withstanding its size, the new and improved design base collapses easily so that you can fold it in almost on itself for temporary storage when it is not in use. All you need to do is pop out the legs. It folds down into about half its size to make it easy for storing away.
The Roaring Jumperoo is a big activity toy and does take up considerable space even when you fold it, so if you do have a small apartment you might need to consider an alternative activity toy.

The Bad Bits

Another issue raised by people; was about the size of the Roarin Rainforest jumperoo. A lot felt it was much bigger than expected when fully set up.
The size of the unit can become an issue for some, if you do have a small apartment. Although the Roarin’ Rainforest can be folded when not being used… it will still take up considerable space in a small apartment.
One option for people who don’t have the necessary space in their apartment is to consider the “Spacesaver” versions of the jumperoo also marketed under the same brand name, “Fisher-Price”. The only downside to that Spacesaver versions have fewer toys and does not have a 360-degree rotation seat.
The Best Bits
A lot of users remain very pleased with the Roarin’ rainforest jumperoo and would not want to be without it for the all around entertainment and the stimulation it provides.
Lots of Parents reported that their babies absolutely loved it and also that the Roarin’ Rainforest jumperoo served as a relief for them as it meant they could pop the baby in the jumperoo for some minutes (freeing up both hands), knowing the baby was safe, secure and being entertained, enabling them to pop to the loo, open the front door or catch up on housework without having to carry the baby around.
